Clown: Finding Your Idiot

Explore clowning and finding your inner idiot alongside Los Angeles clown trio and DICF 2026 Headliners, Silent Partners!
This workshop will focus on teaching clowning skills that can enhance your improv, and honestly, daily life. Learn to be playful and a true idiot. Students will learn to listen to the audience, know when they are funny, connect with their ensemble, and connect with their audience, amongst other skills. Led by Cole Saleh, Molly Renze, and Danny Tee.

Cole Saleh is a clown and stand-up comedian from Los Angeles, CA. He has performed at venues such as The Hollywood Improv, Fourth Wall Comedy, and The Comedy Store. Cole is hopeful one day all this performing will lead him to his dream career in the NBA.
Molly Renze is an actress and comedian based in Los Angeles. She can be seen on “Sketchy Queens S2” on VH1 created by Jinkx Monsoon. She was recently named a Top 10 Rising Comedian at the New York Women’s Knockout Comedy Festival. She trained with greats such as Philippe Gualier in France and SpyMonkey, amongst other incredible teachers. She performs Clown all over Los Angeles at The Elysian, Hollywood Improv, Bob Baker Marionette Theatre, UCB, and other spots. Molly wants everyone to know she could beat you at Guitar Hero.
Danny Tee is a comedian and director based in Los Angeles. He has performed all over town and has directed several shows in some of LA's finest performing venues. These include The Comedy Store, The Hollywood Improv, and The Elysian Theater. With the success of Silent Partners' Picture Show, Danny has recently started grocery shopping.

Want to find new ways to develop characters and sketch premises? Look no further! In this workshop, you'll spend less time writing and more time discovering ideas through improv and play. You'll also learn the art of adding fun, loose energy to your scripts and performances.

Meet Your Instructors: Katie and Connor are joining DICF all the way from Denver, CO! Catch them perform with Big Ol' Mess on Friday, April 10th at 9:00pm, and don't miss your chance to learn from them in their 'Sketch on the Fly' Workshop on Saturday, April 11th!
Connor Schuck is a writer, performer, and improviser based in Denver, CO. He started performing in 2013 while attending The University of Delaware, producing numerous improv and sketch shows along the way. He is a founder/producer for the Denver Sketch Festival which had a wildly successful inaugural year in 2024 and sets off for year two this October. Connor has performed in shows and festivals in NYC, Toronto, Montreal, Philadelphia, Washington DC, Portland, Austin, California, Montana, Utah, and all over this state called Colorado (if you’ve ever heard of it). As an improviser, you can find him performing regularly as a member of Basement Doctors, Last Laugh Standing, The RISE Repertory Company, Tory Spelling, This Just In, or whatever indie team he’s working on at the moment. As a sketch writer/performer, he produces/writes/directs/performs for Big Ol’ Mess.
Katie Congrove is a Denver-based writer, actor, and producer with experience spanning stage, screen, and digital comedy. She has performed in numerous theatrical productions and has written for major YouTube channels including Nerdstalgic (1.49M subscribers) and Weird History Food (680K subscribers). Katie’s comedy work includes writing and performing with the sketch teams Big Ol Mess and Midnight Snack, voice acting in the Don’t Write Me Off podcast, and producing the Denver Sketch Festival. She has also performed sketch comedy across North America, with appearances in Montreal, Toronto, Washington, D.C., Philadelphia, New York City, Austin, and Portland. In addition to her comedy work, Katie has acted and done voiceover work in commercials and appeared in various short films and proof-of-concept projects currently on the market. Trained extensively at The Second City Los Angeles and RISE Comedy in sketch writing, screenwriting, improv, and stand-up, Katie is passionate about helping students find their comedic voice, bringing both industry insight and a love of collaboration to the classroom.
